Easter Egg on Yahoo! website

There’s an interesting easter egg on Yahoo! website. Go to Yahoo! website and try clicking on the exclamation mark on the red Yahoo! logo with your audio speakers on. It only works on Classic Yahoo.com, so if you see ‘m.www.yahoo.com’ on your browser address bar, click on ‘Return to Classic Yahoo.com’ link first before clicking the exclamation mark.
It requires JavaScript and Flash, so if you’re blocking JavaScript and/or Flash, remember to unblock them for Yahoo! website.
Go on, try it for a little fun. :)

OpenOffice.org 3.0 is available

OpenOffice.org (OO.o or OOo) is a free cross-platform office application suite. It uses OpenDocument Format (ODF), the ISO standard for data interchange, as its default file format. It also supports Microsoft Office ′97–2003 formats, and as for version 3.0 it has the ability to "open" documents with Microsoft Office 2007 format. So if you’re looking for a free alternative to Microsoft Office, OpenOffice.org is the way to go.

Opera 9.6 released

Web browser from Opera Software gets a new version. Opera 9.6 comes with speed improvement, several innovative new feature, bugfixes, security and stability upgrade. This release also defines that Opera is still in the game of web browser war. It continues to bring us better internet browsing experience.

VirtualDub 1.8.6 released

VirtualDub 1.8.6 is released and is a stable release with bug fixes for some user reported issues. Some of the most notable bug fixes are errors handling audio in NTSC DV type-1 files, several crashes, and a few glitches in batch mode (job control).

Google Chrome, a brand new web browser announced

Today Google announced a new web browser, Google Chrome. An open source web browser, taking components from Apple’s WebKit and Mozilla’s Firefox. Google will be releasing a beta version for Microsoft Windows, and still working on versions for Macintosh and Linux.

Update on Autoruns for Windows

AutoRuns for Windows just got an update. A newer version of 9.34 includes a fix for a bug that caused Autoruns to exit immediately after finishing a scan when passed the accepteula command line argument.

Firefox 3.1 will be upto 7x Faster than Firefox 3.0

Mozilla Firefox 3.1, codenamed Shiretoko is an upcoming revision for Firefox 3.0. Shiretoko will bring a lot of speed improvement compared to its precursor within certain scenarios. This improvement is largely contributed by optimizations to Firefox’s SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine. Mozilla developers have been working hard to bring a Trace-tree based Just-in-time compiler to SpiderMonkey. Mike Schroepfer, VP of Engineering at Mozilla Corp, point out that on certain test it runs about 7x faster using the JIT than Firefox 3. So 2-4x average JavaScript speed improvement is expected.
